Wilhem Baumgartner, E+Co Latin America and Caribbean Regional Manager, has more than 14 years experience in managing and administrating investment portfolios in Central America and the Caribbean. He started his professional career working as a Credit Executive in CORMAR, the leading freightforwarder, customs brokerage and warehousing company in Central America. Mr. Baumgartner later worked as Project Executive for Corporación Privada de Inversiones (CPI), a development bank financed by the US Agency for International Development. Prior to joining E+Co-LAC, Mr. Baumgartner was the Senior Project Executive for Corporación Financiera Ambiental (CFA), a venture capital fund, financed by Interamerican Development Bank (IDB) and other highly regarded multilateral organisms. While working for CFA he managed an investment portfolio in different environmental sectors within Central America. From October 2004 to January 2008, Mr. Baumgartner worked as Senior Investment Officer for E+Co LAC, where he presented more than US$4.2 million of investment for clean energy businesses in Central America and Brazil. In February 2008, he was promoted to E+Co’s Latin America and Caribbean Regional Manager. Mr. Baumgartner holds a Bachelor´s degree in Business Administration from Universidad de Costa Rica and an MBA from INCAE (Instituto Centroamericano de Administracion de Empresas).

Cynthia León is an Investment Officer for Central America. Before joining E+Co, she worked for Bancomer Stockbroker House and BFA Valores as a stockbroker’s assistant. She also worked for Banco Centroamericano de Integración Económica as an Administrative Assistant, where she developed high organizational skills. Mrs. León completed courses on International Relations from Universidad Autónoma de Centroamerica and also English courses from Florida International University and Miami Community College. Mrs. León is currently studying Portuguese.

Karla González is E+Co-LAC's Monitoring & Evaluation Officer. She is responsible for monitoring and assessing the impact of every investment according to E+Co’s triple bottom line. This includes regular visits within the region to collect the most accurate information on enterprises and to evaluate the real impact of E+Co investments. She started working for E+Co in 2001 as Office Manager. Her previous experience includes working for the Costa Rican Ministry of Foreign Affairs where she was responsible for ministerial and presidential meeting logistics among other administrative roles she fulfilled. Prior to that, she worked for Microsoft and Sykes Enterprises as Account Manager. Mrs. González holds a degree in International Relations from Universidad Autónoma de Centroamerica. She also completed courses on Human Resources and is currently studying a Masters Program in Environmental Management at Universidad Interamericana.

Eunice Asturias is E+Co Costa Rica’s Office Manager. She works directly with the Regional Manager for Latin America and the Caribbean and the rest of the team based in the Costa Rica Office. She supports them in all activities relative to the office management, accounts, logistics, corporate communications, information services, asset management, and other. Prior to joining E+Co, Eunice used to be the Executive Assistant for the Regional Director of Aureos Capital and CDC Capital Partners (Commonwealth Development Corporation) since 1999. She has more than 13 years of experience in similar administrative positions, at first in local companies, legal firms and for more than 10 years in multinational organizations as Marriott Hotel, CDC and Aureos. She holds a Hotel Management degree and also has Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) skills with specialization in Windows 2000 and Office XP. She is fluent in Spanish and English, has elementary knowledge of Italian and is currently studying Portuguese.

Cochabamba, Bolivia:

Gonzalo Rico Calderon, Regional Representative for South America, has a background in civil engineering, he has more than two decades of experience in the evaluation of primary energy resources, power systems planning, generation, transmission, distribution and rural electrification projects. He served as General Manager of Empresa Nacional de Electricidad S.A. in Bolivia. In this position, he directed the company, coordinated and developed its strategy with regards to electric service expansion, generation capacity, financing and execution, operational and maintenance policies and development of its human resources. His work has also included energy economics, project evaluation, energy project management and power sector institution building. He has been involved in sourcing financing from bilateral and multilateral agencies and negotiating bi-national projects. He has also experience in high head hydro power project development and equipment supply and construction contracting.

E+Co Brasil
Salvador, Bahia, Brazil:


Gustavo Antunes Soares, the Senior Investment Officer for E+Co Brazil, has been working in project finance and business administration for over 10 years. Before joining E+Co, Mr. Soares worked as Financial and General Manager for several small and medium companies, including a business incubator and a college where he still teaches finance classes to corporate students in Post-Graduate Programs. Mr. Soares graduated in Civil Engineering at UFMG and also has a Finance Specialist Degree from FGV and a MBA from UFBA.

Gilson Queiroz is an Investment Officer in Brazil. Before joining E+Co in September 2007, he worked for Fieb – Federação das Indústrias do Estado da Bahia (Bahian Industries Federation) as a sub-coordinator of the Observatory of Industrial Development, analyzing the Brazilian energy matrix with a special focus on the local biofuel industry. He graduated in economics from UNIFACs (Salvador’s University) in 2002 and received his master degree in 2005. Mr. Queiroz studied English at the Stanton School of English in London in 2000, and he’s currently studying French at Alliance Française in Salvador-Bahia.

Paulo Reis joined E+Co Brazil as a Junior Business Analyst in October 2007 and is responsible for assisting Brazil’s two Investment Officers. His previous experience includes working for a building company, where he was responsible for managing day-to-day office management, payroll and client contacts. Previously Mr. Reis worked for a port operator of Wilson Sons Group, one of the largest in Brazil. Mr. Reis lived in New Zealand and Australia, where he worked and studied English for one and a half years. He is fluent in Portuguese and English, and is currently studying Business Administration at the Catholic University in Salvador.

Perpétua Matos, is E+Co Brazil's Monitoring and Evaluation Officer since January 2007. She was the former Brazil Office Manager for four years, using her eleven years experience in all administrative matters, policies and procedures. Mrs. Matos was responsible for carrying out operational tasks as well as organizing and coordinating activities, including managing day-to-day running of the office for four years and assisting two Investment Officers. Her previous experience includes working in a large paper mill were for three years she assisted the commercial director, as well as a free translator in a Hydrogen Plant Extension. Mrs. Matos is also fluent in English, French and Spanish. Mrs. Matos holds a Math and Science Teaching degree, and is current
studying Business Administration at the Unopar University/Salvador.

Alexandra Pontes is E+Co Brazil's Office Manager. Mrs. Pontes is responsible for carrying out operational tasks, including managing day-to-day activities of the E+Co Brasil office. She also assists two Investment Officers and one Monitoring & Evaluation Officer. Mrs. Pontes has eleven years experience in all administrative matters, policies and procedures. Her previous experience includes working in hotels in Salvador and in a large paper mill where for 6.5 years she assisted the president and managing director. Mrs. Pontes is fluent in Portuguese and English. She holds a Hotel Management degree and concluded an MBA in Administration at UNIFACs/Salvador where she also holds a specialization in Secretariat.
